VAULT DWELLERS SERVED

VAULT-OS

  1. What is Vault-OS?
  2. What platforms does VOS run on?

Vault-OS (VOS) is a cross-platform, generic and modular real-time web server designed to control, maintain and support automation, storage, environmental and survival concerns for civil defense.

It is intended to be very simple to install, run and maintain without any expertise. It is meant to fit on a single floppy disk or very small hardware and to display highly fault tolerant and robust behaviour with extremely long MTBF (mean time before failure) measured in decades.

VOS targets a very old standard for HTML to support access and control by any basic web browser. The browser can be hosted on the same machine that is running the VOS server or access it from across any basic LAN (Local Area Network).

The VOS Web server is intended to run in Windows 32 environments (NT/98/98SE/ME/2000/XP/Win7) as well as Linux, FreeBSD and DOS-32 operating systems. VOS has been tested on React-OS (free Windows NT Operating System) and several flavors of Linux running X-Servers where it seems to perform well without complications.
